What is the Cliffs at Princeville?
It is a mixed-use resort condominium developed in the early 80s. Our 202 units situated on 22 acres are built on a secluded bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 130 of these units are organized into two timeshare programs with almost 7,000 individual owners. The remaining 72 units are individually owned, the majority of which are used as vacation rentals.
When was the last renovation and are any planned for the future?
The last property-wide renovation was in 1992, after Hurricane Iniki. The property has undergone an $8 million rejuvenation project, finished in 2001. Over the next few years several improvements are planned including the renovation of the administration office that will include a new lobby, activities center, business and Internet center and a real estate office. This building will be environmentally friendly and partially self-sustaining with a photovoltaic array for its electricity needs. Work is scheduled to begin in January of 2007 and will hopefully be completed within 10 months.
We will begin renovating all of the timeshare units beginning in May of 2007. In addition, we plan to construct a new and larger pool facility with a tropical theme, a waterfall feature and lush landscaping surrounding it. This project is scheduled to begin in January of 2008 and should be completed within 5 months.
Where do I check in and what are the hours of the Front Desk?
Once you turn into the property proceed straight ahead about 100 yards until you come to the stop line. If you look straight ahead you will see the reception pavilion. There are parking stalls fronting that building and the front desk is located on the right side of the building. The desk is open every day from 7 am. to 10 pm.
What if I will be arriving after hours?
If you can, please notify the Front Desk that you will be arriving after 10 pm by calling 808/826-6219. Upon arrival, you may contact Security with the phone provided outside the Front Desk door. Just pick up the phone and it will automatically dial Security. Or you can call direct at 808/635-2806. Please be sure to stop by the Front Desk in the morning to properly check in.
Does your resort have elevators?
We do not have any elevators. All one-bedroom units are located on the first and second floors. All one bedrooms with loft units are located on the third floor. If there is any concern regarding your ability to climb stairs, please inform our Reservations Department at the time you book your reservation so that we can make proper arrangements for room assignments.
Do you have units available for those with disabilities?
We have several units that are ADA compliant for those who require such accommodations.
Are the units air-conditioned?
Our units are not equipped with air conditioners, however, our units are equipped with ceiling fans and portable fans are available upon request. Due to the location of our resort (on a cliff overlooking the ocean), our units are kept cool by the constant prevailing tradewinds.
Do you have Internet capabilities?
We have high-speed cable modem Internet access from each of our rooms for guests traveling with laptops. We have wireless and desktop access from our recreation room adjacent to the front desk. There are applicable fees for this service.
