Ah, golf on Kauai! If you’d like to play golf, you needn’t go far to two of the world’s most spectacular courses, both designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The Prince Golf Course, named for Prince Albert, son of Hawaii’s King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, is a challenging course which offers 5 different tees at each hole so you can customize your game. The Makai Golf Course is 18 holes and 9 holes which provide golfers of all skill levels with a variety of challenges and spectacular Kauai views.
If you can tear yourself away from the north shore, there are many other golf courses on the island, from the Wailua Municipal Golf Course and Kauai Lagoons near Lihue to Poipu Bay Golf Course, the former home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, on the south side.
Kauai is known for its miles of white sand beaches and crystal clear water.
Just down at the end of Ka Haku Road, near the Princeville Hotel, is Pu’u Poa Beach, best for swimming in the summer when the surf is low. Its 191-step staircase will give you a good work-out, too! Head south about 2 miles and you’ll find Anini Beach, a very safe and shallow beach with a fringing reef. Windsurfing lessons are available here.
Hanalei Bay, 3 miles to the north, is one of the premier beaches in Hawaii with a 2-mile stretch of powder-soft white sand and four different beach parks. A great place to surf, swim, picnic, and relax after a morning of shopping in Hanalei Town.
“We can't believe how fortunate we are to be staying at the Cliffs at Princeville. The grounds are beautiful, the units are amazing, service and hospitality is great and it's conveniently located to visit the North and South of the island. We highly recommend the Cliffs at Princeville when visiting Kaua'i.”

“This was our first stay at The Cliffs and we'll definitely be back. The condo unit had everything we needed and more. The Cliffs provided beach chairs and a cooler in our unit to take with us on our outings. We also appreciated having two full bathrooms. ”

“The unit was upstairs we did not have an ocean view but we were delighted to have a beautiful garden view. The unit was just beautiful with two nice Lanais to enjoy your meals on. We woke to the sound of birds and had fresh breezes throughout our very spacious condos. Very insulated as well, we did not ever hear neighbors.”
