Ah, golf on Kauai! If you’d like to play golf, you needn’t go far to two of the world’s most spectacular courses, both designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The Prince Golf Course, named for Prince Albert, son of Hawaii’s King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, is a challenging course which offers 5 different tees at each hole so you can customize your game. The Makai Golf Course is 18 holes and 9 holes which provide golfers of all skill levels with a variety of challenges and spectacular Kauai views.
If you can tear yourself away from the north shore, there are many other golf courses on the island, from the Wailua Municipal Golf Course and Kauai Lagoons near Lihue to Poipu Bay Golf Course, the former home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, on the south side.
Kauai is known for its miles of white sand beaches and crystal clear water.
Just down at the end of Ka Haku Road, near the Princeville Hotel, is Pu’u Poa Beach, best for swimming in the summer when the surf is low. Its 191-step staircase will give you a good work-out, too! Head south about 2 miles and you’ll find Anini Beach, a very safe and shallow beach with a fringing reef. Windsurfing lessons are available here.
Hanalei Bay, 3 miles to the north, is one of the premier beaches in Hawaii with a 2-mile stretch of powder-soft white sand and four different beach parks. A great place to surf, swim, picnic, and relax after a morning of shopping in Hanalei Town.
“My wife and I have been coming to the perfect getaway in Princeville, Kauai for about 10 straight years and have stayed here every time. It is a definite paradise. The property is always immaculate. Don’t miss a chance to stay here. You will not be disappointed. Aloha”

“My wife and I had a fantastic experience staying at The Cliffs for our honeymoon. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful assisting in scheduling and creating our ideal honeymoon. The doors off helicopter tour with Jack Harters was definitely the highlight of the trip, which Matthew at The Cliffs booked at a fraction of the price. He also hooked us up with a great rental car at half the price. Highly recommend The Cliffs!”

“Wonderful service, clean spacious rooms, nice pool and tennis area, small fitness studio, lots of classes and fun things to do. Beautiful grounds on the prettiest end of the island. We come back every year.”
